About Sutharyakeralam
�Sutharyakeralam� is an innovative initiative of the Government of Kerala, aimed to bridge the gap between the Public and the Government and thereby ensuring transparency and efficiency in the functions of the Government.
The major objectives of the project are the automation of Chief Minister�s Grievance Redressal Cell and convergence of all the available forms of Communication to redress the grievances of the citizens.
A call centre and an online Public interface to collect the petitions and an interactive video programme are the initial attractions of the project. People can convey their grievances through the call center. The Call center is functional from 10 AM to 5 PM on all Government working days. Experienced call centre professionals receive the calls and as multiple terminals are operating simultaneously, the chance for a call being missed is minimized. The received calls will be converted to electronic data and will be sent to the Chief Minister�s Grievance Redressal cell where it will be recorded in a server placed at the Government Secretariat. The number of the call centre is 155300.
The petitions will be selected after scrutiny and Chief Minister will respond to the selected grievances. The public can watch Chief Minister�s response through the �Sutharyakeralam� programme in Doordarshan Keralam on all Sundays between 7:15 PM to 8 PM
The online Public Interface integrates the project with the cyber world, and it offers round the clock access to the service. Public can register and submit their petitions at this interface and they can also track the present status of an already submitted petition. One can submit complaints through the web site www.sutharya.kerala.gov.in also.
In the near future, the project will extend its horizons to the field of mobile technology and is expected to make use of the immense potential of SMS facility.
The data collected via the call centre and the online public interface will be recorded in a database and will facilitate the grievance redressal process. This data will act as a guideline for deciding the priority of a particular petition. Moreover this database will also serve as a guideline for the future development initiatives of the Government.
